Veterans Day

On Veterans Day today, I ask that you watch this short video concerning our homeless vets. If you are near the Carmel Valley area, I hope that you will join us for the concert on November 17th at the Folktale Winery to help raise funds for programs to help them. If you can’t make that, please just be aware of this growing problem and find other ways to support our veterans in need.

I thank all of our Veterans for their sacrifices and continue to support programs designed to help those of them in need.

Tickets for the Saturday concert are available now – along with opportunities to upgrade to be a VIP Guest and spend some extra time with me along with some other bonuses. I hope you can join us! https://project-resiliency.org/magical

Love this photo and the story that goes with it!

Thanks for sharing it with me, Rachel! 🙂 Here’s her fantastic story behind this photo:

Hi Rick! Sorry this is so long and rambling, but I wanted to share this because for me, this is all about coming full circle…I started listening to Def Leppard when I was 12 after hearing Photograph on the radio..and it was then this amazing band from Sheffield immediately carved a niche into my life and heart, with your records becoming the soundtrack to all the important events in my life….love, heartbreak, marriage, births, deaths and everything in between. Fast forward to 2012…my son attended his first Def Leppard show for his 12th birthday, and has been my constant companion each year after that (minus the Vegas residency). Last year my daughter firmly told me that I was taking her to your next show… Saturday @ Wrigley Field, my son attended his 7th Lep show, it was my 13th. Below is my 10 year old at her first concert…ever… Def Leppard. The picture says it all…it was an amazing show and [we] had the best time. We’ll see you next time….and there will be a next time

Summiting mountains without sight

Scaling the world’s tallest mountains is a feat in and of its own—doing it while blind is extraordinary. Erik Weihenmayer is the first blind rock climber to summit the tallest peak in every continent, Mount Everest included. At a young age, Weihenmayer was diagnosed with retinoschisis, a rare eye disease that left him sightless by age 13. But he didn’t let that hold him back from seeking out adventure, proving that what others may see as a hinderance can oftentimes be your greatest asset. Now, Read the full story

Being human with the dog photographer

Welcome to Wegman’s Wild World of Weimaraners, where dogs bake cakes and lounge like royalty. Known to the world as the “dog photographer,” William Wegman has spent the past 45 years dressing and posing his canine muses in elaborate ensembles, finding whimsy in the absurd. His work is at measures droll and enchanting, evoking awe in audiences around the world. And, his pups have had their share of the limelight, making appearances on everything from “Saturday Night Live” and “Sesame Street,” to Read the full story
